3 Simple Ways to Prepare to Share Jesus

John 1 includes two interesting examples of how people who discover Jesus can respond and change the lives of the people closest to them. In John 1:41 it says: 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). Later, it continues: 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” John 1:45

Imagine how Christianity would change the planet if everyone who found Jesus shared Him with someone else!

Here are a few simple things that you can do to prepare to help others connect with Jesus.

Know Your Story

One of the greatest things I see people who want to help others connect with Jesus do, is to write down their story of how they came to Christ. Where were they emotionally, relationally and overall in life? How did Jesus break through to them? What was the moment like when they knew they wanted to follow Jesus? How has their relationship with Jesus transformed their lives? When people reflect on these things, these details become present in their minds and hearts and as God’s Word says, we speak out of the overflow of our hearts (Luke 6:45). This helps paint a picture to people about how God works in our lives on a practical level.

Know God’s Word

Philip was able to tell Nathaniel that Jesus was the Messiah because he knew the scriptures. When you know the scriptures, it builds your faith so that you can confidently share Jesus with others. I have a new book coming out called The 21 Laws of Evangelism http://jackredmond.org/the-21-laws-of-evangelism/ that focus on 21 verses that will build your faith so that you can boldly share Christ with others. You can be like Philip and Nathaniel and lead others into a relationship with Jesus.

Share Them Over Time

When you share your story and God’s Word with people, they may respond immediately or it may take time. Either way, if you do these two simple things, over time God will continue to draw them to Himself. You can learn these principles and put them to work!

We will be holding a 1 day conference called The School of Evangelism https://www.eventbrite.com/e/school-of-evangelism-bilingual-conference-tickets-36971501757

this Saturday, September 23 in Newark, NJ to teach these three principles in detail. One of my greatest joys is to watch people’s excitement when they start to see God use them to help their friends and family connect with Jesus!

I pray that you will prepare to be used by God, and that God will work through you to help others connect with Him!
